Accessibility statement
Accessibility.
I want Dub Digger to be usable by as many people as possible, including anyone using a screen reader or a keyboard on its own. It is designed and built to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Where things stand
The site was audited against WCAG 2.1 Level AA in August 2026 and the problems it found were fixed. I did that testing myself, so treat it as a careful self-assessment rather than a certificate: nobody independent has looked at it, and no screen reader user has been through it end to end.
It is also a beta and changes often. If something used to work and now does not, tell me.
What is built in
- A skip link, so the header, the search field and the navigation can be jumped at once.
- Ordered headings and named regions on every page, including a name on each of the two navigation bars.
- Everything works by keyboard, in the order it appears, with focus always visible. The phone menu closes on Escape and keeps the keyboard inside it while it is open.
- Text clears 4.7:1 against the background, and anything you can click clears 3:1.
- The whole site works with JavaScript off: search is a plain form, and the tabs, the sort control and "Load more" are links carrying their state in the address.
- No images in the content, every icon hidden from assistive technology, and a link that leaves the site says so before you follow it.
- Reduced motion is respected, and you still get the real figures.
No third-party content
This site loads no third-party content, embeds, fonts or trackers, and sets no cookies. So there is no consent banner in your way, and no outside widget carrying accessibility problems nobody here can fix.
Where it is still weak
The interface is dense on purpose. It is built for someone who reads Discogs pages for fun and wants a lot of information per screen, and that is a choice which suits some people and not others. Long lists are paged at forty rows to keep that manageable.
The corpus text comes from Discogs, written by thousands of volunteers. Artist names, biographies and credit roles arrive as they were typed, so their wording, punctuation and capitalisation are not mine to make consistent.
Some artist names are very long and set very large. They should reflow rather than overflow at any width, but that is the part I would most expect to have missed a case in.
