Bio

American baritone jazz singer from NYC, New York, USA.

Born: 20 January 1978 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA.

James is of Irish and Panamanian descent, achieving much success after DJ Gilles Peterson signed him to his new independent label Brownswood Recordings in the late 2000s.

He has also recorded tracks for many other artists, notably on Italian musician and producer Nicola Conte, on albums "[m=109233]" (2008) and "[m=708945]" (2014), Jazzanova on album "[m=56466]" (2008), and Goldie on album "[m=1196432]" (2017), among others.
