American graphic designer, born June 26, 1929, The Bronx, New York City - died June 26, 2020, Manhattan, New York City.
In 1954, Milton Glaser, along with Reynold Ruffins, Seymour Chwast, and Edward Sorel, founded label 605284. In 1968, Glaser and Clay Felker founded New York magazine, where Glaser was president and design director until 1977. A design studio, Milton Glaser, Inc. was established in 1974 in Manhattan.
Glaser’s graphic and architectural commissions include the "I ♥ NY" logo (which has been described as ‘the most frequently imitated logo design in human history’), commissioned by the state of New York in 1976, the iconic poster included with original copies of [m=27269], as well as designing multiple album covers, such as [m14468], [m293883], [m413489], [m55686], [m203707], among others.
