Bio

Heralded for her "charismatic, soulful allure”: critically-acclaimed producer and vocalist Private Joy aka Pops Roberts is becoming well known for powerful contributions to both record collections and dancefloors in both her neo-soul collective Lovescene and her solo moniker.
Alongside her impressive catalogue of collaborations with a number of UK underground legends (Shy One, Ruf Dug, Lenzman and Hidden Spheres) Private Joy firmed her place on the UK soul scene with her debut EP “Desire!” released on the legendary Rhythm Section in 2024.
With song-writing that references every shade of retro and modern R&B in abundance; and bold production that is as eclectic as it is unique…and as a live performer and bandleader, Private Joy remains forever versatile and a ‘vocal-chameleon’ with hybrid DJ sets, live PAs, or full harp-drenched street-soul outfit.
