Bio

UK reggae drummer, guitarist, vocalist and producer, active since the '70s.

Previously drummer for Clancy, Noir, Kilburn & the High Roads
with a mixed Jamaican/Ghanaian line-up including Michael Dan (keyboards) and Winston Bennett (guitar). Part of the
thriving British reggae scene that included Aswad, Steel Pulse, Misty in Roots, Matumbi and more, the band recorded
Exiles in a Babylon in that year and released it on the tiny Sun Star label, but it wasn t long before in-fighting led Ford to
return to Jamaica. Today the album sounds as fresh as ever, nine tracks of roots-conscious reggae in keeping with the
times plus two bonus tracks from Ford recorded with Freddie McGregor in 1980 for good measure,
Exiles in a Babylon may have been buried in the mists of time for 31 years, Merger also lay claim to the fact of being the only reggae band ever to appear on the Old
Grey Whistle Test!
