Bio

Reggae musician and singer-songwriter in Austin, Texas. Monsarrat was born in August, 1951 in Phenix City, Alabama.
Growing up on military bases around the USA and Japan, he began playing music professionally in Tokyo in 1964. He went to high school in San Antonio, Texas, where he played in garage bands and eventually moved to Austin, Texas and co-founded reggae group The Lotions in the 1970s. Since then, he has played bass and sang with bands including Stop The Truck, The Mau Mau Chaplains, and Music For Life. In addition to his own bands and solo work, he has also been active as a session musician.
