Bio
Natalia Rogantini is an Italian musician, singer and improviser.
In 2018 she graduated in acoustic guitar at the Lizard Academy in Fiesole and in 2020 she graduated in Jazz Singing at the “Giuseppe Verdi” Conservatory in Milan.
Since 2017 she has attended the Permanent Laboratories of Musical Research held by Stefano Battaglia at Siena Jazz University. In 2021 she released her first solo voice album, "Quies Silentium", a tribute album to the music of the Swedish double bass player, composer and mentor Anders Jormin, a musician through whom she met the Japanese Koto player Karin Nakagawa with whom she collaborated. In addition to the solo, among her active projects there is KIAN, a quartet linked to radical improvisation shared with Pierluigi Foschi on percussion, Cosimo Fiaschi on soprano saxophone and Nicolò Faraglia on electric guitar.
In 2021, within the Permanent Laboratories of Musical Research, "AWEN" was born, a trio project with pianist and composer Stefano Battaglia and guitarist Giacomo Zanus that sees them engaged in research work linked to the improvisation and new arrangiaments of ancient traditional songs, work songs and ballads in Gaelic. Within the same research space, she is currently working on a project around the poetry of Antonia Pozzi, again with Stefano Battaglia and cellist Sarvin Asa. In 2023 the collaboration with Nicholas Remondino also appeared as LEJ, their first album will be released in 2025 for Torto Edition, Tour de bras and Nunc. Together with Nicholas Remondino in 2024 she organized "Ala Bianca Festival", festival dedicated to Contemporary Music and New Music in Piuro, Valchiavenna (Northern Italy).
