Eric Maltz

Eric Maltz is a composer, musician, and bricoleur, combining acoustic sounds, field recordings, filmic improvisations, and electronic music. His musical practice is rooted in dream study, the finding of connections between disparate objects, and is guided by the premise that sound is a vehicle for emotion
He’s released music to critical acclaim on my own imprint, Flower Myth Records, as well as on labels Possible Futures and Midnight Themes. He curates the mu-zine Acoustic Jaguar, a mixed media sound and art journal. He’s performed live at Berlin Atonal and in clubs throughout Berlin and my hometown of NYC and is the host of Embraceable Silence / Disappearing Mirror, a regularly charting monthly radio show on Cashmere Radio.

Because of his unique conceptual approach, he works as a composer and sound designer for multi-media and immersive installations, regularly collaborating with directors, artists, academic researchers and production companies. When not working on commissions, he focuses on the creative possibilities of research and reportage, searching for a way to contextualize and share experiences, ideas, and sound across various media.
