Bio
British graphic designer.
Well known for his logos and artwork on many releases on the label (or scene called) Acid Jazz, plus Talkin' Loud, Mo Wax, Especial Records, Far Out Recordings, and very many others. And for artists including Kyoto Jazz Massive.
Additionally, readers of Paul Bradshaw's defunct UK black music/jazz magazine "Straight No Chaser" would know him as head designer.
He has also done TV title sequences for Derren Brown, Smack The Pony, Peep Show (Channel 4); Jazz Britannia, Folk Britannia (BBC); and others.
Other work includes flyers, work for brands' promotional campaigns, gallery works, etc.
Collections of his work have been publiched in the books "Swifty Funky Typo-Grafix" (published in 2017 by Gamma Proforma; 376 pages / over 800 illustrations; edition of 500; originally sold for £75); "The Graphic Art Of Ian Swift - Volume One" (June 2019; Independent Publishing Network; 300 pages; edition of 500, numbered and signed; originally sold for £40 on Ian Swift's website only) and "The Graphic Art Of Ian Swift - Volume Two" (300 pages; each book signed and numbered; originally sold for £40 on Ian Swift's website only; initially available only on pre-order to customers who had previously purchased Volume 1, but in November / Decembrer 2021 offered freely for individual purchase; Print date: 21st October 2021)
