Mariska Neerman

Belgian producer. Has released at least one track as part of DJ Stingray's Urban Tribe project, as well as her solo material.

Mariska’s approach to music production is intuitive and unconventional. Instead of following a fixed genre or format, her music serves to express her inner world in a dreamy and playful way. Heavily influenced by Detroit Techno and IDM of the nineties (think Drexciya, Plaid, Orbital, …), this results in a quite emotive and melodic electronic sound. The atmospheres she creates have a sometimes slightly ominous undertone, yet are filled with optimism and a hint of nostalgia. Starting producing at the age of 18, she was quickly discovered by DJ Stingray through Myspace in 2009. This lead to her first release of her track Insolitology on Planet E, as a part of the Urban Tribe collective. She has also released tracks on Bleep 43 and more recently, Semantica Records.
