Chelsea Starr

American musician and academic, born in North Carolina in 1964 and grew up in Orange County, California. Starr was the vocalist, bassist and co-founder of Vegex, a post punk band active from around 1984 to 1995. She was also the bassist for Los Angeles, California rock band Bed Of Eyes, played drums with an experimental noise band, worked for BOMP! and co-owned her own label No-Fi Records.
Starr stopped playing professionally in 1997 to complete her PHD at UC Irvine and became a sociology professor at ENMU in Portales, New Mexico.
