Bio

Glen Ricks got his start as a member of artist 386564, who saw him dancing when they toured Canada in 1968. Impressed with his stagecraft, the group soon found that Glen, who had gone to Canada from Jamaica as a child, had musical talent in abundance. Glen joined the group, which also featured Lloyd Lovindeer and artist 2821949 and they recorded the massive Jamaican hit "[m=403932]" for producer Clancy Eccles in 1969. When the group split in the seventies, each member pursued a solo career. Glen returned to Canada, where he had a successful career as a singer, gaining a contract with CBS Records Canada Ltd. when he caught the attention of artist 589838 of the artist 168907 group. He also spent time in soul centers like Chicago and Philadelphia, and cut a beautiful R&B album [m=626510], featuring a superb rendition of the artist 83396/artist 391058 hit. Late in the eighties he returned to Jamaica, establishing himself as an in demand singer with leading producers like King Jammy, Philip "Fatis" Burrell, Bobby "Digital" Dixon and Lloyd "Pickout" Dennis.
