Bio
English drummer, songwriter, record producer, music journalist and author. Born September 12, 1948 in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, England. Birch has published a book on the 1970s pub rock scene of which he himself was a part, titled No Sleep Till Canvey Island (The Great Pub Rock Revolution), published in 2000, updated in 2003. He has also published Ian Dury (The Definitive Biography) in 2011, and Cruel To Be Kind (The Life And Music Of Nick Lowe) in 2019.
