Bio

Formed as Shadowfax back in 1995 the band went through a bunch of name changes after having found out these other names had already been taken. The more long lasting of these were Tinúviel and Silmarillion before settling on Angaudlinn. This is a sindarin composite word made from the components meaning iron, machine and music so the english translation might be something like iron-machine-music or music of the iron machine (i e electronic music).

The first demo tracks was recorded in a small room in Olofström and the first ever concert took place in December of the same year. The setlist contained four original tracks along with a couple of covers. The whole thing was breadcasted on local TV and yes, there is a recording of it, but it's quite a painful watch these days.

After relocating to Malmö in 1997 life got in the way and composition and rehearsals slowed to a crawl. Jesper released some solo work with his spin-off project Machinepop and there were a few tracks released on compilations that were pressed in small numbers.

In 2012 Angaudlinn was asked to participate with a track on a three cassette compilation from newly founded Dödsdans Rekords and that set the wheels in motion again. A bunch of digital singles saw the light of day the following years and these was later pressed as the debut "Stories From The Red Book", limited to 300 copies and was released on the 25th of March 2016, to match the new year in the Middle Earth timeline.

The following year more digital singles were added to the catalogue and a second album was planned, working title being "Tales From Arda". The vinyl craze was in full swing while issues in both personal life and universal dito made themselves known. Insanely long turnarounds for vinyl and a pandemic knocking on the door shelved the project though there is still plans to get these tracks out there one day.

In late 2025 the band pulled all their tracks off the streaming services to regroup, reform and reinvent the concept of Angaudlinn. They hope to return one day...
