Achim Szepanski

Achim Szepanski, born in Karlsruhe (1957), was a member of the German experimental noise band P.D. in 1980, and then P16.D4 in 1982.

In 1991, he founded the legendary German Techno label Force Inc. Music Works, with the sub-labels Mille Plateaux (since 1993) and Ritornell (since 1999), for Minimal and Experimental Electronic Music. It is a difficult and indescribable task, to state the influence and musical excellence that the labels had, in the history of underground electronic music.

He also worked as an author and lecturer, mainly on philosophy topics. Since 2018, he has relaunched the Force Inc./Mille Plateaux labels.

Achim Szepanski died in September 2024 at the age of 67 ( ... found dead in his apartment on September 24, 2024).
