'Mangué' Vásquez, Afro-peruvian cajón player, died 16.3.2012
One of the leading representatives of Afro-Peruvian cajón, descendant of the family of Porfirio Vásquez (his grandfather) and Abelardo Vásquez (). Throughout his career, ‘Mangué’ accompanied a large number of Creole singers and musicians, including the great Chabuca Granda from an early age, who mentored him in his career, and later in life the group Novalima.
