Nao Katafuchi

Nao Katafuchi is an electronic musician who creates his own world of dark romantic wave.

Nao Katafuchi grew up in the Tokyo suburbs in the 1980s.
In 1991 he moved to the Lower East Side in New York City.
After years of experimenting, Nao found a niche of musical kindred spirits at the legendary parties of Wierd Records, where he made his debut as Nao Katafuchi.
He moved to Germany at the end of 2015. There he quickly made a name for himself and finally established himself in the dark wave scene that has been deeply rooted in the industrial Ruhr region for more than 30 years. His second album "Stalhgrau" is strongly influenced by his new environment. Along with the raw and gritty sound of vintage analog synthesizers, the music itself has become even more abrasive with its darker, deeper voice and whisper.
