K-maro

The story of Cyril Kamar (aka K.Maro) begins in the 80s. From a childhood marked by the war in Lebanon - the country where he was born - to the 90s, when his family emigrated to Montreal, Cyril Kamar has always lived surrounded by music. Initially rocked by French chanson, it was in Canada that he discovered urban cultures. He soon established a solid reputation in the Montreal underground. His first group, LMDS, was a huge success when he was just 16. For several years, between Montreal and New York, he hung out with breakers, graphic artists and DJs, gradually learning what was to become his trademark: a subtle balance between business acumen and artistic daring.

He began his solo career in the late 90s, collaborating with DJ Shortcut on his first mixtape "I am a l'ancienne" in the early 2000s. In 2004, under his own label Kpone Inc Music Group, he enjoyed dazzling international success with the release of his debut album* La Good Life*. The album sold millions of copies worldwide. Propelled by the now cult hit Femme Like U, it topped the charts in over 18 countries. He followed this up with a string of successful albums and tours, recognized by his peers in the European industry as one of the top 30 producers under 30 of his generation. Artist, manager and producer, Cyril Kamar successfully wears many hats. His talent and unique vision of the creative industries give him a position of great influence in the industry. Over the years, in his capacity as a talent scout, he has worked with artists such as Shy'm, Corneille, Fredz, Belly, Vai, Yseult,Imposs,411, Suzuya, Ogee, Skip The Use, Bruno Mars, P. Diddy, Dipset and Cheb Mami, and provides strategic advice to Warner Music and Universal Music.
