Bio

American DJ, record producer, remixer and songwriter, born February 16, 1970, Boston, Massachusetts.
In 1988, he started as a DJ in Boston's club "Loft". His first release followed in 1992. In 1994, he reached the Dance charts for the first time with his single "Witch Doktor".
His commercial breakthrough followed in 1996 with a remix of Tori Amos' song "Professional Widow", which reached number one in UK.
In the following years, Van Helden had success in both, remixing other artists and as releasing artist. He remixed songs for e.g. The Rolling Stones and Janet Jackson.
With his own work, he reached the top of the UK charts for the first time in 1999, when his single "You Don't Know Me" reached the peak position. His success continued in the 2000's and in 2010, when he had worldwide success with his project Duck Sauce, he reached multiple peak positions in Europe with the single "Barbara Streisand".
He founded his own label Armed Records in 1998, and Stupid Fresh in 2002.
