Bio
Doug Hitchcock is a drummer, percussionist, writer, former newspaper reporter and magazine editor. Born in Denver, he has been performing and recording for more than 30 years with a host of rock, blues, funk and jazz artists. Doug studied percussion at The Drummer's Collective in New York City and holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas. He has taught rudimental snare drumming, percussion, and drum set performance at Village Music Academy for more than 15 years. He has spent time gigging with Kansas City's foremost blues and jazz artists, including pianist Rich Hill, blues band The Old Crows, and 11-piece rhythm 'n blues big band Full Blast. With New York guitarist-partner Sal Cataldi, Doug has released two CDs of original genre-busting jazz-rock instrumentals as the Hari Karaoke Trio Of Doom.
