Bio

Mat Watson is a Naarm-based artist working across modular synthesis, drums, and electronic composition. His solo projects explore the territory between Kosmische traditions and experimental sound practice, spanning both recorded work and live performance. Alongside his solo output, Watson has collaborated across improvised, electronic, and indie contexts — including E.S.G, Taipan Tiger Girls (with Ollie Olsen & Lisa MacKinney), Underground Lovers Moda Discoteca, Black Cab — as well as large-scale ensembles Boredoms’ BoaDrum, the MESS Synthesiser Orchestra, and Stephanie Lake Company’s Manifesto. He has performed extensively throughout Australia & internationally.

Watson has released several albums of electronica under the name Other Places along with synthesiser focussed records under his own name.
