Bio

Ziad Moukarzel is a sound producer, musician, lecturer, and studio engineer whose work explores the creation of acoustic spaces, both real and imagined. Using software, synthesizers, and sound design, he draws from the textures of the natural world to build both tangible aural environments and otherworldly soundscapes.
As managing partner of Woodwork Sound Studio, Ziad oversees music recording, mixing, mastering, and sound design across performing arts, podcasts, radio, and film. He is also a live electronic musician and DJ, collaborating across genres including classical, rock, experimental music, and sound art. He co-founded the avant-garde rock trio Wet Silhouette with Claudia Khachan (voice/keys) and Anthony Tawil (drums).
Ziad’s solo and collaborative projects have been presented internationally, including at The Listening Biennial (2021), Gangwon International Triennale (2021), and Sharjah Art Foundation’s Re|sound VII (2022). His radio play Rise and Fall of Orient Swiss: Bedtime Stories (with Chrystèle Khodor) was featured at Zürcher Theater Spektakel (2021), and his theater project Ordalie premiered at Festival Sens-Interdits in Lyon (2023).
Alongside his artistic practice, Ziad is a technical trainer and educator, having taught sound design at the University of Balamand and co-founded the Beirut Synthesizer Center.
