S.Q.E.

S.Q.E. is a project based in Brooklyn, NY, United States, started in 1999 by J. Greco (aka The Fruitless Hand). It can be considered the solo continuation of Smooth Quality Excrement, an experimental ambient trio founded in 1997 by J. Greco together with Ure Thrall and Paul H. Locasta.
J. Greco is originally a bass player, and has been sampling and processing for the sake of imagery and effect for years, and recently has incorporated guitar and various keys for songwriting. The approach and reasoning behind the music may change but the moods usually range from dark to melancholy, to supernatural to just plain fucked. From beats to drones, dub rhythms to neoclassical harmonies, and minimalism to harsh noise.
