Bio

Michael Barthel (*1977, grown up in East-Berlin, since 2002 based in Leipzig) has been active in the field of noise / tape music since 1994. From 2009 the focus shifted to working with language in writing and sound. His „Sprechstücke“ combines sound poetry, the big mouth of East-Berlin dialect and lyric in the intention and loudness of Punk. Running the labels Protest Products (1994-1997) and Recordings for the Summer (since 2001).
