Parachute

Parachute are part of the leipzig / germany-based privatelektro network. The two musicians - Christian Wruck and Marek Brandt - work on a quite ambient style of experimental electronics. The term “ambient” is here to be taken literally as “creating an ambience” for the listener that is not just meant to consume to affirmatively “chill out” but to actively experience whatever is to be experienced by listening to it. Being openly structured as a fully improvised minimal “tone float”, the music just expresses the possibility of its existence and does not transport any ideological content beyond that. It simply happens. Music can be much more than just passive entertainment, more than a simple means of spreading pre-produced reality. The user should be free to associate, focussing on the special individual and/or surrounding atmosphere of the moment.
