Karel Beer

Musician and producer born 1947 in Sutton Coldfield (UK).
Karel Beer started as a DJ on pirate station Radio City in 1965. A year later, he went in Paris for the first time and worked as an actor (dubbing English films), journalist (correspondent for NME) and lyricist. When returning to Birmingham, he met the group Bachdenkel, for whom he wrote lyrics and became its producer. Karel Beer moved the band to France, allowing them to write, perform, and produce 2 albums.
Karel Beer created the label The Initial Recording Company ("IRC") in 1977, which produced and released albums by, among others, Jack Nitzsche, Danielle Dax, Irv Mowrey and Bernard Szajner. Karel Beer also formed with Szajner the ephemeral duo The Hypothetical Prophets. From 1982 to 1984, in parallel with various productions in Britain for his label "IRC", he was international manager for Nimbus Records (classical music label).
It was in 1986 that Karel Beer settled again in Paris. He opened his own studio, specializing in soundtracks for audiovisual performances (Disney / Magic Planet / Bicenternaire / Science City / Futuroscope).
In 1995, he created the company label 843735, organizing acoustic concerts in Paris, in venues like the Hotel Du Nord and La Java.
Over the years and after so many collaborations with various musicians, Karel Beer finally organized in August 2005 the first edition of the festival "Rochefort en Accords", for which he remained programmer until 2009. In 2010 he began recording his solo album Informer Times helped by many of the musicians who he had worked with over the previous decade.
