Adriatic

Although Adrian Williams, better known musically as Adriatic, was born in Indianapolis, IN, he spent 20 years of his upbringing in Minneapolis, MN, where he truly originated from. Growing up in the Southside of Minneapolis, Adriatic was exposed to a wide variety of music by his parents. He spent summers in Chicago, where he first began to seek out listening to the radio. By the age of 10, Adriatic began composing beats under the names Drehoops and DJ Pizza Slice, preparing mixes for friends and family. By high school, Adriatic had established his name locally in the Twin Cities through his beats and DJing for a number of local emcees. He formed Pseudoubt in 2013 with classmates, and in a similar fashion with his trip-hop band Origami Bones in 2014 with the release of their album One. Both bands were a part of the Desoplex Records collective.

By 2016, Adriatic had started recording with the band Cool Pollution in addition to producing his Shrub beat tape for DRWN's Switzerland-based label . t h e l o o p s . In 2019 Adriatic emerged with his own label, Automatic Records & Tapes with releases in collaboration with Myka 9 (of Freestyle Fellowship) and Jada Brown. He has continued to produce underground talent such as Bukue One and Mimo Magri. He has performed on lineups with Shabazz Palaces, Toki Wright, Mickey Avalon, Poliça, and more.
