Wolfgang Brauneis

Wolfgang Brauneis is based in Cologne since 1995, where he works as a freelance art historian and co-owner of A-Musik, a platform for experimental music consisting of the label and record store, distribution, event location and radio programs. Furthermore runs Tonschacht and Alarm (3) and founded the Institut für Betrachtung (Institute for Contemplation/Reflection) In 2014, together with visual artists Tim Berresheim and the curator and art critic artist 9614950. In addition, he contributed articles, essays and reviews to various publications such as Perlentaucher, artnet, Spex or testcard, as well as exhibition catalogues and has given lectures as a visiting professor at the Academy of Fine Arts Münster, at several universities, including the Zurich University of the Arts, Merz Akademie, the Städelschule Frankfurt and the ZKM | Center for Art and Media Karlsruhe.
