Manfred Opitz

German keyboardist, vocalist and composer born July 31, 1954 in Berlin.
In 1969, he joined the band "Zarathustra", where he met Michael Westphal. In 1972, both founded "Stage", a free improvisation band and predecessor of artist 1945332, which they co-founded in 1973.
Opitz was the leader of the band, but the band split in 1975.
The second half of the 1970's, Opitz realized several music projects, e.g. collaboration with artist 102103, a band created by ex-bandmate artist 789872. In 1980, he started to work with artist 381413 and became member of his band.
Also in 1980, he co-founded the New Wave band Lilli Berlin, which was active until 1984.
Starting from the mid-1980's, he focussed more and more on composition, video art and musical direction. In the early 2000's, he rejoined some of his former bandmates in the band "Group 66".
