Pronounced me-my-mo, mmm is the solo alias of Tokyo-based musician/translator Moe Ishii since 2006. Having grown up in Singapore and California, she uses her bilingual sense of words and rhythms to sing about the world and its days that are ephemeral. Her style is influenced by singers such as Cat Power, Feist, Tara Jane O’Neil, Meiko Kaji, and Sachiko Kanenobu.
