Charanjit Singh

Born 15th December 1940 - died 5th July 2015.

Indian musician from Mumbai who performed in numerous Bollywood soundtrack orchestras during the sixties and seventies.
Singh led a wedding band, recorded and released a number of albums of cover versions of popular songs. His album [m=225128], which was released in India in 1983 was a flop but its discovery in 2002 and re-release in early 2010 made him a star among DJs and electronica music mavens. The album has been credited as one of the earliest acid records ever made.
