Juho Toivonen

Juho Toivonen is a Finnish experimental musician working across minimalist composition, improvisation, sound art, and lo-fi electroacoustic practices. His work explores memory, autobiography, narrative structures, and fragile sonic environments through piano, acoustic instrumentation, field recordings, and tape-based processes. Known for intimate, home-recorded aesthetics and conceptual long-form works.

Toivonen’s music moves between minimalism, modern composition, and experimental underground traditions. His releases have appeared internationally across Europe and the United States, main publisher being Swedish label and hub Discreet Music. His practice can sometimes extend into publishing, pedagogy, writing and curatorial work.
