Bio

Julian Mount is an English songwriter and musician associated with the folk and singer-songwriter tradition.

He was raised in the London area and initially focused on writing poetry before turning to music. His songwriting developed within the UK folk scene of the late 1960s and early 1970s, where he performed original material in London and surrounding areas.

His work shows influence from contemporary folk and singer-songwriter artists including Joni Mitchell, John Martyn, and Pete Atkin.

In 1973, Mount recorded the album "Unsung Lies" at home in North Watford using a reel-to-reel tape recorder and minimal equipment. The recording was privately pressed through Deroy and distributed in small quantities.

He remained active in music in later years, performing with groups such as Glass Bird and Helix, and issuing further recordings on cassette during the 1980s.

Between approximately 1990 and 2015, he was involved with Circus Unlimited, contributing original material including "Big Red Noses".

Mount later relocated to Ludlow, Shropshire, where he has continued to write and perform music.
