The Oval Language

The Oval Language produces performances since 1987. Around its core of Peter John and Frank Berendt the group is enlarged for the specific projects. The utilisation of Instruments, the form and the choice of location and its territorial determination depend upon the contents and the statement of every project. Main emphasis is given in the production of audio products that provide insight in the groups sound research and video productions that often uses the documentation recordings of performances and translate them into independent narrative structures. Projects in the area of performances depend extensively on corporal expression. The work in sound makes use of room installations as well as unconventional live concerts under conventionel conditions. Further occupations are going into painting and photography.
