Bio

French 'Touch' house/downtempo electronic group from Paris.

Formed in 1997 by two musicians/producers Chris Canavaggio (rock guitarist in the 80's, then studio producer) & Bob Farrel (aka Robert Farel, pop musician and singer in the 80's, co-writer of the hit song “ Duel au soleil ” for French singer Etienne Daho, he rapidly devoted himself to studio production) and a sound engineer Sean Henry. Grand Tourism came to life in Paris through 2 maxis ("La baie du fakir"and "Sexy Funky" in 1999) and a mini album (released in 2000) "A l'écoute de tes Courbes" including the indie hit and much compiled "Les Courants d'Air". Their first full-length album, "Le Surboomer," which was released in 2001, was recorded over two years in their Paris studio with a variety of vocalists, most notably soul folk singer Terry Callier. It sold more than 25 000 copies sold in North America, France, Japan, Australia. Originally a trio formed by members Chris Canavaggio, Bob Farrel & Sean Henry, Chris & Sean continued as duet ater Bob's departure, working as composers for Film and TV series ("Sex and the City", "Six Feet Under"...). In 2013, the duo released a second album titled "Rexican", a collection of thirteen never released tracks recorded in Paris beetween 2004 and 2012, on their own label Fakir Music. The record mixes lounge blues, ballads and electro pop & features Canadian soul singer Tanya Michelle Smith.
