Prosthetic Hands is the moniker of Detroit Producer/DJ duo Keith Kemp and Joshua Harrison. The two artists are closely connected to the inner circles of post-rave Detroit and present their exciting journey through rhythm experiments and sludgy grooves. Their partnership is a creative outlet interested in Detroit Techno, Acid House, and the studio as an instrument. This cosmic TECHNO duo is full of oddball tracks, using individual and uncompromising means to make people move. Together, they have constructed an aesthetic related to but distinct from the heavy, industrial ideas already made famous by Detroit techno pioneers before them. It’s elemental and, at the same time, futuristic, playful, percussive, warm, and sophisticated. Their back-and-forth working approach enabled
them to create something much larger than the individual, something hypnotic and transcendent. Unrepentant studio hedonists tear the fabric of dance music reality, leading another generation of electronic music innovators out of the Motor City.
