Based in Cape Town, South Africa and with Greg Donnelly at the helm, KMD as a bona fide record label was formed as part of a natural progression out of the well-established music distribution company Kurse Music Distribution.
The distribution company itself was founded in 1994 and boasts offices in Johannesburg and New Jersey and affiliations with Godessa's "High Voltage", Ross Campbell's "open record", and a host of other small and independant labels.
