Dedicated to archiving the forgotten sounds of the antipode, Votary Records offer CD and Vinyl reissues of obscure Australian Jazz and Film music from the 1960's and 70's.

Realising this wealth of forgotten sounds, Votary seek to exhibit the virtually unexplored aural landscape of Antithetic Australiana.

Select titles are documentations of incredibly rare original records that have often been forgotten and only previously sanctioned by Jazz aficionados and high-end record collectors.

All attempts are made to improve sound quality and also provide additional notes and photographs when available. Votary believes in representing the works with the original artwork intact.

Based in Melbourne, Votary is a small independent label co-owned by James Pianta and Stephen Kelly. Proud to be associated with these quintessential recordings and duly focus their modest resources towards broadening the scope of Australia's musical lexicon.
