CBC Records

CBC Records is CBC/Radio Canada’s award-winning record label. Its catalogue encompasses all kinds of music, from classical to pop to jazz to world music.

History:
1945 -1966 CBC International Services (CBC-IS) was established to commercialize CBC recordings.
1966 - 1972 CBC-IS was split into two divisions CBC-SM for serious music (classical) and CBC-LM for light music. (pop, jazz, folk)
1972 -1982 CBC-IS was re-named Radio Canada International (RCI)
1982 -1991 label 473654 worked to commercialise CBC recordings.
1991 - label 473654 was re-incorporated as CBC Records.
2007 - CBC Records In March partnered with IODA – the Independent On line Distribution Alliance – for Digital distribution. IODA is the industry-leading digital distribution company for the global independent music community.
