Tropical

Colombian label established in the 1940s. Was owned by (Industrias Fonograficas) label 256907 from Barranquilla, founded by Emilio Fortou Pereira in 1945. This company was also the CBS licensee in Colombia. Also made license arrangements with labels Discos Gema and Swing and released records in Peru in the 1960s. Catalogue and label sold to Discos Fuentes in 1990. Incidentally, their first release was "El Toro de Plata", by Bovea y sus Vallenatos, but was never commercialised due to poor pressing.
