Sound Boy

Sound Boy was a subsiduary label formed by Adrian Sherwood with the On-U Sound re-launch of 2002.
The idea was to allow On-U Sound as a label to concentrate on album releases by Sherwood's own core of current singers and players.
Its brief partly was to take over the issue of singles, EPs and discoplates that had previously been issued under the On-U Sound banner. Additionally there were several re-issues of earlier and/or previously unreleased On-U material.

Sound Boy was a cross between the On-U Sound, Pressure Sounds and Green Tea imprints.

Unfortunately in early 2004 another label claimed to already have the rights to use the 'Sound Boy' name and On-U's 'version' was wound down, its parent label taking up the release of singles once again.
