US 1970s-1990s Christian record label from Houston, Texas.
Started in 1976 by artist 2361401, who was joined by Wayne Donohoe in the trial and error process of building the label.
Star Song had a distribution deal in place with label 1221740, but Tempo, Inc. went bust. After a four-month hiatus distribution was taken over by label 326667 for short while, until Star Song brokered a deal with Word, Inc. in 1983 that was to last until 1986/7. label 20179 and Star Song joined forced and founded label 336124 that handled distribution from 1987 to 1990.
Star Song's parent company label 336123 was purchased by EMI Music in 1994. In 1998, all Star Song artists were transferred to Sparrow and the Star Song label would only be used for reprints and special issues.
