Downside Up Recordings began in 2012 as a digital-first imprint dedicated to forward-thinking electronic music. What started as a small passion project quickly grew into a home for boundary-pushing techno, house, drum & bass, experimental electronics, and underground sounds from artists who value craft over trend.

More than a decade later, we’ve evolved into a vinyl-focused label, creating limited-edition collector’s pressings designed for DJs, audiophiles, and true heads who appreciate the tactile experience of music. Each release is produced in small batches on premium color 12" wax, with an emphasis on artwork, sound quality, and long-term collectibility.

Downside Up is led by founder and curator Brandon De Carlo—a veteran producer, DJ, and lifelong student of electronic music. Brandon’s vision is simple: champion artists with something real to say, create physical releases built to last, and keep the underground alive one record at a time.
