Started by Marco Pustianaz in the mid Eighties as a Fanzine it evolved like many other independent ventures with it´s contacts. An associated mail-order catalogue and involvement in concert and tour organisation led into releasing the DsorDNE / Legendary Pink Dots split 7" in 1987 and to further involvement with Marco Milanesio's project which founded the fundament for the Hax Materiali Per La Comunicazione Label.

Under Snowdonia's own name several Cassette only releases where published besides the occasional participation in different releases. The mail-order kept going until the early Nineties but Marco's assignment for Hax slowed down Snowdonia's own activities until it nearly faded away.
In 1997 Alberto Scotti of the Italian duo Maisie resurrected the label and continued the story with the main focus on playful underground Pop.
