Melody

Mexican label dedicated to Spanish-speaking, primarily Mexican, artists. Originally owned by label 100592 which was acquired by Televisa in the late 1980s. Following a merger with Televisa's existing label it operated as Fonovisa Melody before being rebranded simply as Fonovisa in the early 1990s. The label became a cornerstone for traditional Mexican music styles, also local pop and TV figures.

The company's ownership has evolved significantly even over the last two decades, in 2001 it was acquired by Univision Music Group from Televisa. In 2008 it was purchased by Universal Music Group, currently operating as a subsidiary of Universal Music Latin Entertainment.
