Pioneering French folk label, established in 1972 and active through to 1981 originally. Hexagone specialised in new forms of folk invention, with the accent on Breton, Celtic and folk-prog, with Malicorne becoming the best-known band on the label. The label also featured Hungarian and Scottish folk rock acts, singers and reggae (on the related label 61688 label). Hexagone has since been resurrected a number of times via various distributors.
