Hosanna! Music began in 1985 as a mail-order continuity program (referred to as a "Tape Ministry") via perforated cut-out subscription cards in the New Wine Magazine, which was published by label 3185774, the magazine and the music club were under the direction of artist 3491787, along with artist 3162812 and artist 3048049. Due to a possible trademark conflict with an already established music company also named "Hosanna," the company later began branding their releases under the name "label 598185".

The first Hosanna! Music release - Behold His Majesty with artist 14052331 (known as HM-1) - was leased from label 1762485 and released to consumers through the magazine. No branding or artwork was changed for this release. However, the second release, Let Praise Arise by artist 3132735 (HM-2) - which was also leased from the artist - was the first album to be re-branded with Hosanna! Music on the cover. Subsequent releases were wholly owned by Integrity Communications and maintained similar artwork and branding that evolved with the series throughout the years.

Many of the most notable worship leaders and songwriters in the Christian Music community recorded with and were often made popular through their association with Integrity and the Hosanna! Music releases.
