Info
Tropical Diaspora Records is a Berlin-based record label founded in 2015. The label focuses on music connected to the African diaspora and its cultural links to Europe and the Americas.
The label was established by DJ Garrincha from São Paulo and DR.Sócrates from Vigo. Both were active in Berlin's underground music scene in the 1990s. Tropical Diaspora Records releases music primarily on vinyl.
Its catalog covers styles associated with the African diaspora, including music shaped by migration and cultural exchange. The label's conceptual approach references post-colonial history and Black musical memory.
