Chez Kito Kat

Founded in 2006 in Montreal by Samuel Ricciuti, Salima Bouaraour and Christophe Biache, Chez.Kito.Kat Records is an independent label and multidisciplinary platform dedicated to exploratory music and hybrid artistic practices. Originally focused on organizing concerts and underground events, the label progressively evolved into an internationally recognized music production structure while maintaining a strong connection to live events and independent culture.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2026, Chez.Kito.Kat Records has built a reputation as a true “gems finder,” releasing early works by emerging artists while collaborating with established names from the international independent scene. Over the years, the label has organized more than 150 events across Canada, France, Luxembourg and the United States, while producing over 110 releases on vinyl, cassette, CD and digital formats.

Its catalog freely explores electronic music, ambient, minimal techno, IDM, shoegaze, lo-fi house, breakbeat, downtempo and experimental music. Distributed internationally by Underscope, Clone Distribution and Lobster Distribution, the label has been featured in respected media outlets including The Wire, Les Inrockuptibles, Télérama and NPR.

Alongside its record releases, Chez.Kito.Kat Records continues to curate events ranging from underground raves and ambient sessions in art galleries to collaborations with internationally renowned festivals and institutions such as MUTEK Montréal, Le Sucre, Société des arts technologiques, MUDAM, Centre Pompidou-Metz and KANAL – Centre Pompidou, as well as events during the Nuit Blanche à Montréal.

Faithful to a handcrafted and independent approach, many of the label’s CD editions are handmade and most physical releases are produced in limited editions. Through two decades of activity and collaborations with artists from all around the world, Chez.Kito.Kat Records continues to promote a free, immersive and deeply independent vision of contemporary electronic and experimental music.
